Explain how indigenous people use religion to help them understand their world?
Sounds like homework.
Gives them a story explaining their existence and their place in the world and in some cases their specific place among other groups of indigenous people (note the natives of the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia-each family group had its own creation story). Helps them maintain an ordered society. It helps them understand natural phenomena that they could otherwise not explain.
